  1. The Grimm’s version of Snow White was the one I was most familiar with. The part where Snow White entered the dwarf’s cabin reminded me of Goldie Locks and the 3 bears. She came in and tried out all the food and bed to see which one best suited her. This was my first time I’ve seen that evil stepmother tried to kill Snow in other ways. I didn't expect her to tie her corset too tightly or poison her hair comb. It was frustration seeing her open the door when she was told not to, but at the same time, she was only a child. In addition, I found it a bit strange that Snow White was only 7 years old and yet the prince took one look at her and wanted to take her presumably dead body away. He really served no purpose besides a male presence that was her savior. Questions:

    1. Did you understand the part when the prince came to save her?

    2. How was the Queen the fairest if she was evil? (who was she fair to)

    3. How do the Grimm and Merseyside stories differ? Did the Merseyside version take into account how the prince didn't really serve a purpose?

3. Disney Studios version of Snow White differs from the Grimm version because it was catered more towards children. I see that the dwarfs and the evil queen are the ones highlighted in the story. The prince is the superficial character and the heroine persecuted by the witch, saved by the dwarfs and the prince. I found it interesting that the Disney version did not show Snow Whites biological mother, it was just mentioned she had a stepmother that was out to get her. I wonder why the Queen was out for a child, and why she relentlessly wanted her dead. An adult has no reason to feel such animosity towards a little kid. The ending concluded that Snow “earned” herself a prince, and this was the only male figure in her life that came to her rescue, besides the dwarfs. I wonder why her father was not present in anything that happened to her, from her disappearance to her marriage.
